Although Twitter is back on the web now, IM notifications seem to have gone totally dumb (just like they did after the previous maintenance). Now I need to delete and then re-register my IM account to activate notifications, but the bot-and-bird pic still appears as I attempt to do that.

Anyway it may be a great progress that Twitter staff finally have learned to admit their service's technical problem instead of making blatant excuses like "we're updating" or whatever... :p

So far it seems highly likely that this occurs only if Gtalk is set "off the record"; in fact, the keyword tracking feature has been working without any trouble for the last few days since I stopped "chatting off the record" with Twitter bot. During this period I restarted Gtalk quite a few times (including the above-mentioned sleep mode) but I experienced no trouble at all.

Not only does its API respond only intermittently, but ordinary web reqs also fail, except its top page (http://twitter.com/ ) returns 302
